Unfortunatley, both of our Colonial teams did not fair well in their weekend sets of games, dropping their respective 2 games a piece.

Colonial Men
The Men dropped their second game in Niagara 7-1, putting them at 14-14-3 on the season and in 3rd place in the CHA conference. I was not able to hear nor see the game on Saturday, and according to the box score, RMU did fair well against the Purple Eagles. RMU matched well in shots on goal (33 to 37) and managed to stay out of the penalty box much longer than the Purple Eagles (RMU had 10 Pen Mins, compared to 27 for Niagara). The one score that stands out over the rest, is the 3 goals in the first period. When the Colonials get off to a slow start and allow the opposing team to score first, good things have not ensued. It is difficult to fight back into the game when you are down 3 after the first intermission. RMU takes on Alabama-Huntsville this coming Friday and Saturday at the Neville Island Sports Center.

Lady Colonials
The Lady Colonials however managed to fight back from a 2 goal deficiet in the 3rd period to take the Lady Lakers of Mercyhurst into Overtime, but fell short as Meghan Agosta put the game winning goal in the net at the 3:10 mark. The Lady Colonials were badly out shot in this game 49-22, but the Colonials were able to keep themselves out of the penalty box and limit the Lakers shots on goal during their powerplays, giving them a chance to fight back in the third period.
*Team Captain Kristen Miles again missed this game, making it 5 missed games in a row for her.

The Lady Colonials have finished in 4th place in the CHA Conference this season, with an overall record of 12-21-1. On Friday March 7th, the Lady Colonials are set to take on the Wayne State Warriors in Niagara at 3pm.
