Robert Morris Senior Ryan Cruthers, who finished 5th in the nation in scoring this season, was left off the final 10 for the Hobey Baker Award voting. Inside College Hockey had Ryan positioned at no. 8.

Congratulations to Ryan for making it this far in the Hobey Baker voting and even making the top 10 for INCH's preview.

Here is the rest of the remaining 10: USCHO.com

What an injustice! All that voting that all of us did now seems so worthless. He deserved a better fate, maybe not the final three, but how could they not include him in the final 10. They must not have physically seen him play, that's the only reason I can think of. Because anybody who had seen him play, and that goal he scored on his knees to beat Climie in Bemidji, or how he keeps the puck on a seemingly endless string, would have put him in the top 10 without thinking about it.

Your voting should have felt worthless from the beginning! If you would have read the rules you would have noticed that fan voting only counted for 1% of the vote, the only thing that matters is the coahces and writers vote.

Was being sarcastic about the voting, but thanks for your input anyway! At least there's more people in here commenting and posting now.

I do agree that Ryan is a great player and deserved to get a better look for the Hobey Baker. But the voting committee will always look into a team's win and loss records. Jean-Philippe Lamoureux out of North Dakota has had an incredible year in net, he is my personal favorite to win this year.

This just goes to show that all college sports are political. It seems no matter what college sport it is, you have to be a major name or a cinderella school to get any attention. Just because Ryan plays for a small university with the hockey program in it's 4th year doesn't mean he isn't deserving of the nod for the final 10. He had a great year and he is a great person. Mmmm me wonders where anyonymous is from??

I personally don't think that it is political at all for a voting like this. There are better teams out there with players just as good as Ryan, which in turn played into the fact that he was left off the list. Some players are going to get left off the list, that's why they make cuts. No offense to Ryan or the RMU team, but if someone honestly thought that Ryan would get the Hobey Baker with only 49 points (5th in the Nation) and on a team that didn't make the NCAA Tourney...well, you need to re-think your knowledge of college hockey.
